Harry’s Kid Synopsis
Beginning as a flashback from his deathbed, Harry Flory returns to Christmas Eve, 1950, when his youngest son unexpectedly demonstrates his uncanny physical prowess during the family gathering. From high school through college he earns recognition as a gifted quarterback and is drafted into the NFL by a local California team. Just when his fame and reputation are made, he is confronted with the loss of his beloved father, the betrayal of his closest friend and teammate, the illegitimate child from a vindictive ex-lover, and learns the disturbing truth behind his brother’s lifelong fight with alcoholism.
A moving “slice-of-life,” and an accurate depiction of the times provide a rich background for this story about love, life, and the enduring human spirit.
